Bridgerton Season 3: Renewal Update & Know About The Characters

Bridgerton Season 3

Bridgerton Season 3 Update: The Bridgertons became one of the most-watched Netflix phenomena at Christmas. The Shonda Rhimes series, based on the novels by Julia Quinn, conquered the audience of the platform with its romantic dramas, intrigues of all kinds, and malicious dialogue, a perfect mix between June Austenand Gossip Girl.

The VOD service did not take long to renew the series for a second season, which is already being shot and could reach the small screen this year. But the thing does not end here because Netflix has just announced that The Bridgertons will also have third and fourth seasons. It was Lady Whistledown herself who shared the news with fans of fiction:

It should be noted that in Quinn’s literary saga on which fiction is based, each novel focuses on a Bridgerton brother. If the first season featured Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor), the second will focus on Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), as does the second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.

This novel in question explores the love triangle of the firstborn of the Bridgertons with the young woman he wants to be engaged to, Edwina Sheffield, and her older sister, Kate Sheffield. One of the most commented absences of this new installment will be that of the actor Regé-Jean Page, in the skin of the protagonist Simon Basset in the first.

As for the third and fourth installments, following the order of the books, each season would deal with the romances of the brother’s Benedict (Luke Thompson) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). In Rhimes’s words, “These two more seasons are a gamble on our work and I am incredibly grateful to have such collaborative and creative partners as Netflix.”

The Bridgertons is available on Netflix.

Will the cast stay the same For Bridgerton Season 3?

Bridgerton Season 3

Considering the books chronicle the Bridgerton family in particular, we are hoping that the eight siblings will feature in each episode. Much of the first season cast – like Dynevor, Bailey, Coughlan, and more – are confirmed to return to season two.

However, earlier this month it was announced that Dynevor’s fellow lead actor Page would not be returning for season two, telling Variety his conversations with Rhimes had suggested that the show has an ‘a one-season arc’ which actually tempted him to join the cast.

‘[I thought] “That’s interesting,” because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit, and then the Bridgerton family rolls on,’ he told the entertainment outlet.

New castmates have also been announced for the second season, with Sex Education’s Simone Ashley taking on a major role portraying Kate Sharma.

Speaking to ELLE UK in April, Coughlan told us that she is part of two cast WhatsApp groups, one for the first season and one for the second. We wonder when they’ll start up the third…
